I put the antler handle on this vintage Kabar about 45 years ago for my friend John. The original stacked leather handle was beyond saving. When John passed back in 2024, I got the knife. It has its original WWII sheath, but is in rather rough shape after 80 years +/-. So, I did this one to give it a new home.

Dang, that's a dandy!! You did great on both the handle and the sheath, it's an awesome sheath for an awesome Kabar!! Man, the stories it could tell.

Worked in a prison for 30 years if I aint shiny every time I comment its no big deal, I just don't wave pompoms.

Nicely done it looks like it’s ready for the next 80+ years.

Really a nice sheath - well done! I love the MK2 knifes (no  matter the manufacturer). Just wondering - is you knife probably marked "Robeson" on the other side?

very nice.  I'm glad you saw fit to give it both the new grip and sheath.  Too many would have simply tossed it in favor of something new and shiny.  The memories of your friend are deserving of this.

John was my best friend since we were 12 years old. We mis-spent our youth, growing up in the 60s. Losing him and my wife in one year has been a very hard thing to deal with.
