A real football is pointed on each end . . . and is played by men . . .  soccer ball is just a larger volleyball . . . mostly played by girls

May God bless,

If you can breathe, . . . thank God.

If you can read, . . . thank a teacher.

If you are reading this in English, . . . thank a veteran.

Cool Ball. I wonder what Messi would/could do with that. The soccer balls they use today are a lot different than the balls we were using in the late 1900's. The Adidas Tango was the ball then. Nothing like the balls today.

@Dwight I did laugh at your post. Do you watch American football? The real men around the world play futbol, not American football.

Australian Rules football they play with out any pads or helmets.

LOL!  Not wrong.  :)

US Football actually indirectly evolved from soccer.

Soccer, which dates back centuries, evolved into rugby in 1823 at the Rugby school in Warwickshire, England when William Webb Ellis picked up the ball and ran with it.  Rugby allows passing the ball, but only backward or laterally, never forward without.  Rugby players do not wear pads, other than the occasional thin fabric headgear..  The rules for rugby were formalized in 1845.  Over time the shape of the ball evolved to be more elongated than round, with the modern rugby ball being similar to an American football, but a little bigger and fatter.  The Rugby World Cup trophy is named the Webb Ellis Cup.

US Football started as a form of rugby, with the rules and ball shape evolving over time.  Initially played without pads, after several injuries resulting in deaths the rules were changed and pads introduced.  Amongst the biggest changes was the forward pass, added to the rules in 1906.  American & Canadian footballs are similar to Rugby balls, but a bit skinnier to help with forward passing.

I played some American football in HS, and got a nice long lecture on the above when I joined a rugby team some years later.  Lots of fun!  I wish I could still play, but age and arthritis pretty much ended that!

Let's be honest now the NFL needs to be changed to NTBL National Throw Ball League. Football is a game of two halfs not 4 quarters oh sorry hydration breaks so we can have a message from our sponsors to spoil the beautiful game in its flow. The fans in the stadiums have voiced how they feel about this. By the I think saw a article where Donald Trump said that NFL should change its name and you should stop calling it soccer but call it by its correct name Football where for the most part of the game the ball is actually kicked

Hope this helps

Great find, imagine that water logged and heading that. I remember doing that when younger with the old leather Caseys on cold wet P.E. lessons while the teachers were well wrapped up in their two layers of track suits telling us it not cold just run around to warm up.
