Anyone doing long strips cuts them out in a circle, wets them and stretches them out straight to dry

Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..

That's the way, just like making lace, but a bigger scale. Simple and effective.

Depending on your project, you can also make a long strap by joining 2 or more shorter straps with sewing, rivets, bleed knots or other joining methods.  You can incorporate a decorative ring or other hardware between the 2 sections. Get as artistic as you wish.

works only with veg tan; wet it and stretch it out, pull it really tight and keep it that way until it dries
