I’m restoring a vintage western chair that belonged to my grandfather. The original chair had a horse head on the backrest, and I’d like to replace it with a design based on my own horse. The horse head will be approximately 12-15 inches tall and will be sewn into the upholstery. I’m looking for someone who can create the horse head itself, whether that’s by making the finished leather piece or creating whatever pattern or components my upholsterer would need. The most important thing to me is accurately capturing my horse’s unique facial markings while keeping the overall look simple and in the style of vintage western furniture. I’ll attach photos of the chair, the original horse head, and several reference photos of my horse. I’m located in Michigan but am happy to work with someone anywhere in the U.S. If this is something you do, or if you can recommend someone who does, I’d really appreciate it.
