Help on cartridge loop layout

I’m starting another holster for a Ruger new vaquero for the same guy that I built the anaconda holster for and he wants it built the same way.  There isn't enough real estate on the front of the holster for horizontal rows of cartridge loops so I thought I would run them vertically.  It is a cross draw rig with a 30 degree lean so there would there would be some sort of gravitational pull to help hold the cartridges in.  Is there any reason to not do this or is there a better way to do this.  Here is a picture of what I’ve got.  Thanks for the help.

@Thadrick  is that part of the fold over for the belt tunnel or is that a separate piece? That is a good looking rig by the way.

It's a separate piece but it's attached to the fold over with rivets

@Thadrick ok thank you.  My fold over isn’t long enough to attach the cartridge band to but if I put the studs of some copper rivets in before I glue the liner on then I could attach the band after I finish the rest of the holster and still have the rivet heads hidden by the liner.  It’ll be kinda frustrating with studs sticking out of the back during the rest of the build but it will be doable.  Thanks for the idea.  How far apart do you punch slots for your cartridge loops?  I was thinking 1/2” for this .357.

I sew my bullet loops , I haven't tried doing it with the punch method.

The cartridge strap is a separate piece that I use Chicago rivets to attach it to the fold over part so can remove it later if needed.

I'm not familiar with how your doing your fold over but I use the cartridge strap to hold my fold over in place.

This is how I was going to attach my fold over if I put the rivets coming through where the red dots are at I can attach the band below the fold over or the other way to do it would be to finish this holster with no loops and make a new pattern more like your’s and start over

Instead of using rivets I would use Chicago bolts and glue the threaded female part between the layers. Then just screw the ammo belt on with the appropriate length screws?
