Remembering Peter Main.

The Leather community worldwide is mourning the passing this week of an amazing contributor to the many facets of leather art and craft.

In recognition  for his talents, Peter Main was presented with the Al Stohlman Award. Many leatherworkers have been influenced and encouraged by the magnificent  publications and workshops showcasing his outstanding ability in raising the bar in leather art.

The funeral service for Peter Main is to beheld at St Paul's Anglican Church Cobbitty 2570 NSW Australia on Thursday 27 August2026 at 1.00 pm AESTime. A live stream is available. Following is a Wake at nearby Camden Hotel at 4.00pm.

As a long time admirer of Peter's talents, I consider myself privileged to have attended workshops with him, and treasure the friendship, followed by lasting memories.

Any leather skills I have were influenced by him, thank you Peter,

So sad to hear we’ve lost another leatherworking legend this year. First Bob Klenda back in May, and now Peter Main. This is a sad year for their families, and for the community. My condolences to his family. May his memory and his contributions live on and continue to influence new leatherworkers.
