I have a honey colored bicycle saddle and I want to dye it a shade of blue. Preferebly a midnight blue. Will using a lighter blue plus the existing honey color result in a darker blue? I don't have a sample piece of leather to experiment on. Should I use a deglazer and rub with a light steel wool before dyeing it? Attached is a pic of the existing color. The leather is about 5mm thick and I think it came from a tannery before being built into a saddle. Also, I don't want to soften the saddle in the process of dyeing it. Lastly, if I screw up the blue, plan B is to just go over my mistake and dye it black which I'm guessing won't be too hard to do. Thank you in advance for your help.
