Carved yokes for Chinks

This is for a pair of chinks that are going to be tan with turquoise trim. My customer requested the hummingbirds after seeing a saddle I had made with hummingbirds on it. That is what I would like to be critiqued. I am new with the birds, I wanted to tint them a little to make them catch your eye, but I did not want them to be to overbearing….What do you think? Any suggestions on how I could improve them?

I think they might need a little color, the way they are right now, they seem almost invisible

Maybe in the future use BLOCK-OUT on the hummingbirds. One coat should be enough to lighten them slightly without them standing out too much! And allow more of the color to be seen.

However, personally, I think they look awesome just the way they are!

I think you achieved your goal. The color on the birds along with the subtle coloring in the tooling really works for me. That's a neat yoke design and your tooling always looks great. I bet your customer is going to be really happy.
