first purse

Hi everyone,

I finally managed to finish a purse for a lady who wanted her old one copied. She wanted it plain, without tooling or carving like her old one. It's certainly not perfect but it was a challenge and quite a learning experience for me. I probably made more work for myself than the job needed, but in trying to match the stitching and to have the stitches look the same on both sides I ended up sewing the panels together twice, once from each side in the same holes. My Tippmann was too big so I used an old Singer flatbed and a patcher with #46 thread. I don't have a clue how it's usually done, so I just used what I have. Anyway, the lady really liked it so I'm pleased with it for that reason, but if I could get some opininons, advice, critiques, etc. on how I can make the next one better I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks Timd1159....I had my hands full making it plain and was hoping for that look. I need to get the basic construction of things down better before I try getting all fancy with carving and such.
