I used 4/5 for the body and handles, lined with pig skin liner and a hair-on inlay for the letters. light oil finish and fiebings for the flowers and leaves. The gusset feels like buckskin though im not sure, I cut it out of a leather jacket hanging in my closet. I've got a couple of them in the corner that I've messed up the stitch line after sewing. What weight gusset are you using and what sewing machine are you using? I love it! Troy, you are probably right, she loves it and keeps running into town to "get things". David, thank you. Tim, Im not too sure what the gusset weight is, but would venture a guess around 5 oz. The sewing machine Im using is an "armstrong" (by hand). I dont own a machine yet and everything is hand stiched.
