Heres a nice new bracelet design

First off, sorry I haven't been in much lately, I have been doing more leather work than talking about it, designing new product ranges, a few whips and what not. But I just wanted to stop in and see if you like one of my newest designs.

New spanish gaucho bracelet

The leather was cut from an old sofa and I have had it sitting here for over a year thinking about a backpack from it, but I decided to gut it all into lace and braid it instead.

The bracelet has over 12 metres of lace overall all thinned down from my new super cheap system shown at the bottom. Spanish ring knot of three passes Sealed and wrapped with an over two under two gaucho knot.

As you can see the leather is quite random in it's colour selection. And I think it looks georgous myself.

Along the same lines heres a comparison shot of several different sizes we are working with in the range.

I also took factory braided stuff and tested out a super sized gaucho bracelet of three passes, It doesn't photograph well at all.

I am going to be trying out several different giant braided knots versions like pineapples and stuff.

Also one more in the bracelet range is a more classic braid style. Theres another 11 designs in progress along similar lines.

I have been enjoying working with this stuff immensely as you can see...

This is a finger training device I use to keep my fingers strong, helps grip, coordination and timing, it used to be just a bar but I decided to play a little.

It can be used some what for pen spinning practice too. Oh speaking off...

Heres a nice little pen, picture was taken before lacquer was applied though, far far better in shiny version.

As you can see this was thrown together from an old skid, a metal piece of something I found in my tool box, two shelf studs, four nails and theres a screw underneath to adjust depth of cut, it's far from perfectas it takes time adjusting and putting everything back together but it works a treat when it does.

The built in sharpening system is great too, rubbed over with 4000 grit japanese stone before you start, it cuts like a dream every time.

Anyway, hope you guys like the new stuff.

wow! How do you do that braid? I have always worn a braided leather necklace, its about time i make another one...

First off, welcome to the forum.

Anyway...

The top one...

First off cut lace and braid a four strand round braid, (over a core of .5-1mm works better) Braid about 4 metres of reata.

Then take it to a bottle about the tight right size for your wrist and start yourself a spanish ring knot of three passes.

Once that is done, you need to find a way to seal it nice and tight. I used a gaucho knot of under 2 and over 2 pass.

Very nice work. It is well worth the 45 L that you are asking for it maybe more. I love your braiding and kick my self in the tail when you said sofa cuz I just got rid of mine at the dump. lol you do great work and i love the fact you cut your own lace. i do the same for my bolo ties and do it out of deer of elk. .Keep up the work and pass on how to braid to anyone that ask. we need to keep our art alive for many centuries to come.
