Members ruthless Posted November 6, 2009 Members Report Posted November 6, 2009 If the two pieces of leather I'm screwing together are a total of 8-10mm deep, what length chicago screw do I need? What length rivet would I need? Also, if I'm rivetting 5-8mm together, what length rivet should I get? Quote
Members iwannabeacowboy Posted November 6, 2009 Members Report Posted November 6, 2009 Rivets, from what I've read they should stick out no more than 1/8 of an inch when inserted through your leather. Chicago screws, you don't want sticking out so that when you screw it together it's tight on the leather. Half the time I find myself grinding down the screws both parts to custom fit what i'm making. Charlie Quote I'm never to old to learn about all the things life brings along.
