Tri-Fold Wallet's for Christmas Presents

Making up 5 wallet's for my son's for Christmas. Then I need to make 2 purse's for my Wife and Daughter. This is one of my fathers designs, except it had a Horse Head in the middle. Didn't think the boy's would want that so I modified the design with a scroll outline in the middle so I can put their initials on them. Here is what it looks like after I cut them.

Next were the Vainer, Cam's, Stops, and Mules Feet.

All done with the tooling. Added Initials for my one son and decorative cuts. My decorative Cuts still need more work, but I think I can see improvement. Time to let this one dry so I can dye the back ground. Need to get started on the next one. All comments and critiques greatly appreciated.

The back ground is dark brown and the center is tan. Put 2 coats of neat-lac on. Not sure if I should use antique on this or not. Would like opinions for those of you looking. What are your thoughts?

Nothing useful to contribute, but thanks for posting the step-by-steps. I found that very interesting to see.

Not familiar with neat-lac so can't help there iether. I pretty much only use leather grease on my work (not sure if leather grease is the right word. trying to translate from danish. stiff greasy stuff with a bit of beeswax in it often used on horse tack).

Not sure if I should use antique on this or not. Would like opinions for those of you looking. What are your thoughts?

I would use paste antique, then a layer of tan coat to seal in the antique. The tooling looks good.

I have 2 done, one still lacing up, and another one I'm tooling right now. One more to go after that, then on to purse's.
