Roughout With Bling

Recommended Posts

Havn't been online much but thought that some may like to see this. I am not a fan of buckstitching but I kinda like the way this turned out.

It is a roughout that the customer wanted similar to the one in Al Stolmans books.

Andy,

While your creation is way to fancy for me, still I must say that I think it turned out pretty cool!

I think it looks very much like the one in the Al Stolmans books.

Again I say, very nicely done!

Joel

btw... Is that oiled leather on the horn ring and cantel binding?

Would love to know how you did the blind stitch binding if you dare to share! The rawhide is stitched on the inside with it standing out straight and then rolled over after it is stitched.

Careful with that buckstitching you may make it fashionable again!! I hope not!! It is a little too retro

Very nice. I don't think the buckstitching is too retro though. You made it your own.

I think it looks cool.

Happy customer I'm sure.

Andy,

that buckstitching is something else! I'm not much of a fan for it either but what you've done looks like a modern revival of an old trend... similar to the way kids are wearing "skinny jeans" again but they aren't the same as they were twenty five years ago. Nice work.
