Books You Can Download For Free On Google Books

Recommended Posts

I am new to leather working and joined this group find out how it is

done. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this site. It has only

been two days since I have signed up but I have learned a ton. I can't

wait to get started. I thought I would share some online books that I

found on Google Books. These are free to download since their copyrights

have expired. If you want to do you own research on older books, use the

advanced search feature on Google Books. Specify a date range where the

ending date is Jan, 1923. Books published before that date are generally

not subject to copyright protection in the US. Here are some of the

books and journals I found.

Leather work: A practical manual for learners By Charles Godfrey Leland

Stencil and block-print designing ; Leather- and metal-work designing

... By International Correspondence Schools

The leather work book By Rosa Baughan

Leather work By Adelaide Mickel

Leather manufacture: a practical handbook of tanning, currying, and

chrome ... By Alexander Watt

The decoration of leather: from the French

of Georges de Récy By Georges de Récy

A manual of shoemaking and leather

and rubber products By William Henry Dooley

The principles of leather

manufacture By Henry Richardson Procter

The art of tanning leather ... By David H. Kennedy

Leather for bookbinding By Douglas Cockerell The arts of tanning, currying, and

Cheers for the lead. With nearly two million hits for "leather" alone that makes for quite a reading list!

Jim M posted a link to http://archive.org/details/texts earlier. Only 700+ there for "leather".
