Kangaroo Romal Reins

Recommended Posts

As stated in the title, I finally finished my first set of romal reins. I learned a lot and think they turned out ok. They are 8 plait 48" reins with 12 plait romal.

Thanks for taking the time,

CW

I don't know too much about horse gear. But from the looks of those reins, you did a good job. Nice work Aggie.

Nice looking work! It feels good to get a project done that seems to hang around awhile.

Calvin,

Those look great and wow you put a ton of buttons on. My first thought was 48", does he ride giraffes? ;) Then I see you don't have any rein chains so that makes a big difference.

Those are really nice!

i have never braided anything aside the back jockeys on my saddles

I would like to try my hand at braiding reins (not something such "difficult" as those you have done).....and maybe 1 day build ones like yours or even a bridle

What kind of book would you advice me to buy in order to learn something about braiding?

what kind of book which say what material to use , why? and how to braid?

Thanks a lot for the tip!

;)

WOW those look really nice!

Haven't done any braiding but am looking to start and would love to be able to make a set as nice as those ones that you have made! I hadn't seen a set out of roo hide before but like the color a lot.

Thanks for posting the pics.

Thanks a bunch I appreciate it. Ive seen quite a few sets of all leather reins, but they arent usually daily users. For the most part it seems that people are using them for showing, but with proper care they should hold up just as well to every day use.
