Silkfatblues,

Very nice work. Are those staples in the keeper? How do you apply them?

tk.

hi! yes, I use staples often...

here is a pic from my phone how its done...

Nice Silk, i like the way you use the retention screws on your holsters. i have to ask, on some of your long barreled holsters, even though you arent stiching up close to the gun, are you still glueing up close o the inside of the holster?

Hi,

I use glue but what is more important I use this fantastic leather that once its handpressed and dryed it stays like that and its very firm and solid, so no gun dancing inside holster... one other important thing is that I use double layer of leather just for the edge peice, but what you cant see in the pic is the inner shape of this leather peice... its shaped to perfectly fit along the gun... so, even with no pressing and stitching only on the very edge the gun will stay in place perfectly... but thanx for asking, your observation is great!!

cheers,

silk

Hi all!

I have had a weird and exciting year so far and that is one of the reasons I didn't have much time for posting here... will write about that later on...

Just a couple of pics of latest custom orders, nothing special...

I have some leather seats to work on next month so that might be interesting...

And some fashion bags... That will be my first :))

Cheers

Very nice. What kind/weight of leather are you making these out of?

And what does the back of this holster look like?

Thank you :)

If you wonder about snaps and that stuff it is all YKK

I really love their quality and durability!

So, the screws are made here, local firm.

Lower parts for screws are solid brass and we darken them in my workshop.

Those also custom made here by our friend... Can't really find that type nowhere...

Plastic buckles are from Austrian company CLIX. Plastic triple release buckles, adjusters, all sorts of things...

Awesome company, great products, fast and reliable!

cheers,

S

I am back... :))

So, last year was too crazy...

I made 1100 pieces of gun holsters, all handshaped, vege tanned leather... A year before that I made 700 pieces...

Most of the shaping I do myself. But I did have some help. In the end my hands needed 2 months of recovery...

The problem is always a timeframe. I had to shape 25-30 holsters a day... I really do not wish this type of job to anyone...

So, slowly recovering, doing some smaller orders and riding my bike around...

Cheers,

S
