Billy Cook Saddle?

Recommended Posts

I was given a roping saddles by my brother in law who bought it in1966. He used to work the Omaha stockyards in the late 60's and 70's. Someone seems to think its a Billy Cook. It is stamped with Longhorn on the latigo keep and has #1770 on it. Can someone help please :-)

Potts LONGHORN Leather Company was located in Dallas, Texas during the years you are talking about. They sold their brand of saddles nationwide as well as all kinds of tack and equipment. Their saddles were contracted out to Billy Cook during those years, made to Longhorn specifications. The number is a model number used for that specific style of saddle. Hope this will help a little, and welcome to the forum!
