Your bag looks great!

Quick question though. I'm making a bag quite similar to this, however it's from a saddle bag pattern. Do you know if it makes it any easier to oil the gusset before contact cementing it for sewig? I feel like my gusset isn't going to bend well around those square ish corners.

i would skiuve the gusset. i also get the gusset edge wet and the use small spring clamps to fit it to the back . when they dry it's alot easier to glue and sew.
