Members patriarch Posted February 24, 2013 Members Report Posted February 24, 2013 Hello. I want to buy some antique, but I do not know could it survive freezing during shipping from USA to Belarus? Does anybody have such experience? Which antique could be safety freeze and which not? And one more question about acrylic dyes: could I use art acrylic paints to color leather or edges? Sorry for my bad english. Quote
Moderator Art Posted February 24, 2013 Moderator Report Posted February 24, 2013 Art acrylics work great on leather. I use Liquitex, but any good Acrylic will work. Airbrush or regular brush works fine. If you use heavy body acrylics you might want to thin them some to get more penetration and grip. I din't know about freezing antique. Art Quote
Members patriarch Posted February 24, 2013 Author Members Report Posted February 24, 2013 Thank you, Art How can I thin acrilics dyes? Should I use water, alcohol or special thinner? Or it's depends on the type of acrilics dyes? Quote
Moderator Art Posted February 24, 2013 Moderator Report Posted February 24, 2013 Acrylic is water based paint, not dye, it is opaque to different degrees depending on thickness. Water works, acrylic medium works better, marginally, since I airbrush a lot, I use acrylic airbrush medium (Liquitex). Art Quote
