very nice the silver thread and brown leather is my favourite. I don't know how you get those cuts so straight I always have trouble cutting on the line even with a straight ruler. Keep it up.

Today's works.

Star plate is for my friend, the others are mine.

I'm a leather plate collecter!

sadly, it's only practice.

Is the stitching only for decoration?

it's not decoration, it need stitches.

Geometrically beautiful.

But I don't get it, why it needs stitches?

I think it's because they're actually two pieces stitched back to back (or flesh to flesh). Notice that both the interior and exterior of the tray are grain sides, and the bottom part of the male snap is not visible.

Cheers

Juan

Hunio -

Your work is truly exceptional and to me looks just like something straight out of Hermes or Louis Vuitton. Very close attention to detail must certainly be among the keys to this look, but I'd sure like to know more about how you do these trays.

I'll bet a lot of folks here would be interested in a detailed tutorial, or breakdown of just how you make these. I know I've seen several questions about your covered snaps, edges, etc., would you care to tell more?

Either way, thank you for posting!

What kind of edge paint is this? And does it have wax in it?

Agreed, really gorgeous work, and I really want to make one now! Though of course now that I've seen this and commented on it, if I ever make one to sell it will have to be a totally different type. Grr.
