Stupid question, how do you print the pattern so it is the original size?

I printed it on a tiled setting and then you have to piece it together like a puzzle. In this paticular one there were only 2 pieces I taped them together then glued them to poster board to cut out

Some printers you will have to use a poster setting

Or you can also save as a JPEG and take to staples

They charge $ .60 a foot however

Good luck!

Thank you for the pattern.I'm not able to print that size. If I take my printed version to staples,  can they enlarge it?

Your PDF viewer should have some options in the print dialog box.  Depending on your viewer, it could be under "zoom" or "print handling" or similar description.  Select tile pages or split pages to multiple sheets.  It will split the drawing up into multiple sheets, you trim and tape them together.  Print at 100% scale.

Play with it a bit and you will find the right settings for printing tiled images.

Thank you very much for posting your patterns.

I am hoping to try out a few different techniques, machine sewing v's hand sewing, lined v's unlined, different dying and edging finishes.

I printed these patterns out on A3 paper at 100%. Does that mean they are the size that the leather needs to be? The patterns look enormous.

Using Adobe's measure function, the widest part of the pattern is about 8.75 inches.  Check your printout and see if it matches.

The widest part of the regular sized pattern is 229mm (9.012") long by 221mm (8.708") wide.

The larger case is 262mm (10.315") long by 255mm (10.039") wide.

Maybe I can use some thin cardboard (cereal packet stuff) to make a test piece.

Definitely.  I like to tryout patterns or make new patterns using paper or light weight cardboard.  I staple the edges together to check shape and fit.  Adjust as necessary, then go for the leather.  Sometimes will do a second prototype on cheap leather to see how it really turns out.

I was going through some of Tboyce's great patterns and finally got up and made something from one.  Hope you're doing alright, Tboyce!

I was lazy so I just riveted it instead of sewing.

@Grey Drakkon

I like it!
Lazy? or creative?
It looks good, is more than practical, and cuts the build time. What's not to like? :)
