True mastery of a craft is not measured by never making mistakes. It is measured in how well one RECOVERS from making one.

I think the blue streak was caused by over spray (from the edges) onto the white lettering.

Be glad it wasn't a tattoo. You can remake the seat.

It's the spelling gods having a laugh at your expense.

Been there, done that, got the T Srith.

.... Maybe, because I am zero religion...

Could you cut out the knight and stitch it in as an inlay into a new seat with correct text? Might look like you meant it.

yeah, that would make a cool inlay. thats a good idea, TinkerTailor. worth considering, pzarkov. and maybe find some religion wouldn't hurt either. :red_bandana:

I always hated doing "read-a-seats" had a customer that wanted an entire 35 word verse plus a gothic cross, with flowing banner and roses...... I told him I would put the name of the Chapter and the numbers of the verse. He didn't want that. I try to limit my writing to 3 words...... Just works out better that way.

I declined the job. He had another leatherworker do it. The guy used Tandy letter stamps......oh man it looked like .....well you know. So happy I never had to put my name on that one.

One question, have you done a black seat with white paint on it before?

For me, David, 3 or 35 words...it's absolutely the same...For me,this is just a hobby. When I work with leather,I don't think about money...I just listen blues, drink my old bourbon and relax...

I use Tandy tools too....But tools is not important...You need just "hand" and "eye"...

Cheers....
