Hello!

Anybody used Fiebing's leather sheen, both liquid and spray version? Are they giving compareable results? I have a can of the spray version, and really like the results it gives. Problem is, I live in a small apartment, with my working space in my living room. The vapor from the spray is not so pleasing. It is also sometimes problems going outside to spray (4-5 months with snow.. So wet everywhere..)

So, is thw liquid bottle the same? Can't find a Norwegian supplier who sell the bottled one, so I'll have to order it from abroad, so it would be nice to know before I order some, since shipping will be quite more expensive.

Thanks In advance!:)

I just use the Fiebing's Acrylic Resolene which is very similar to the Leather Sheen as it is acrylic. We typically mix the Resolene with water (50:50 blend) and apply more coats (avg. 3) to achieve the finish we want. You can get the Resolene from Tandy in the UK which is your closest opportunity. Resolene has a satin looking finish so if you are looking for a glossy finish you may want to try Tandy Leather's Super Shene which is also a water based acrylic like the Resolene. There is no off putting odor from any of the water based products and they can be sprayed (with an airbrush/Preval system) if you so desire without any chemical propellants.

Fiebing's doesn't ship their pressurized (aerosol spray) products outside of the U.S. for safety reasons.

Good luck with your endeavor's.

thanks for the reply. I know of the other alternatives, but have not tried resolene (neighter this is supplied here In Norway, I think).

I have however tried the Tandy eco-flo, both super sheen and satin sheen. I did not like them nearly as much as the spray, and was therefor wondering if someone had used the one wich comes in a bottle with the same name. The super sheen gave kind of a plasticy feel.

I checked the Tandy UK site and you can order the Resolene for delivery in Norway and throughout the EU. I pretty much stick to it as it gives me the finish that I am looking for, doesn't stink up the whole shop, and it is purely water-based acrylic. You will not be able to get the Leather Sheen in the EU as they only sell within the United States; they won't even ship it out to Canada. Sorry that I couldn't be of more help but there are your options based on you location.

I use Leather Sheen in bottle, and I live in Europe and bought in a german site. In fact, there are several european sites that sell the bottled version, they just don't sell abroad (if shipped by air) the spray version!

Ballovarre,

I like the bottled leather Sheen, doesn't have a strong odour and in my opinion, does give a beautiful finish, not a plastic feel.

There's a site in Denmark that sells it:

http://www.leatherhouse.eu/products/35-top-finish/631-leather-sheen-liquid-118ml/

The site I bought it from, in Germany:

http://www.lederhaus.de/lederzubehoer/lederpflege.php

Another german site:

https://www.patin-a.de/shop/USER_ARTIKEL_HANDLING_AUFRUF.php?Kategorie_ID=568&Ziel_ID=1191#Ziel1191

And another:

https://www.rickert-werkzeug.de/de/Farbe-Pflege-Kleber

And an english site that sells it in several bottle sizes:

http://abbeyengland.com/Store/tabid/77/List/1/productid/69370/language/en-GB/Default.aspx?txtSearch=leather+sheen

Hope I helped you.

Happy new year everyone

Thank you! Have you also tried the spray version? If yes, do they give compareable results? As I said, I already use the spray version, my Norwegian supplier only sell that one. I really like the results I am getting with it, but as I said, spraying In my living room is not a great solution.

Happy new year!
