xlr8tn Report post Posted December 13, 2008 (edited) Hey all, I have a friend that has a guitar like the attached photo. Is it possible to get the black stripped effect (flamed maple) after the red/burgundy dye is applied? Thanks, Brent Edited December 13, 2008 by xlr8tn
Luke Hatley Report post Posted December 13, 2008 (edited) XLR8TN ....I DID IT A LONG TIME AGO TAKE A PC OF WOOD THE SIZE OF THE STRIPE DIP IT IN BLACK DYE JUST GO DOWN THE STRAP TOUCHING THE WOOD WITH THE DYE ON THE STRAP. THEN OVER SPRAY WITH A DILUTED RED DYE THEN FINISH OFF WITH SUPER SHEEN. NOW YOU WILL PRACTICE BEFORE YOU DO THE REAL STRAP? HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU. KEEP US POSTED. PS... NICE LOOKING BASS...
