i thought i would put up some of my portraits i have done lately. Elvis was a test just to see how it would turn out. i was gonna use it as a sample for people to judge my ability but it sold before i could get it framed. i did frame it but did not get picture of that.

Portraiture is TOUGH, even in traditional media. Accomplishing that in leather is no small feat! Great job!

Simply amazing! I have painted portraits and it was hard enough to learn how to do that marginally well/ok.

Carving it !! :notworthy:

That pelican is great. Good work, people's faces are very tough to translate to leather. I have a lot of trouble doing faces.

Yeah, portraits are the hardest thing I ever had to draw/sketch up and you just applied them to an even harder medium. Kudos to you!

That, indeed, is some excellent work, . . . far beyond my expertise that is for sure.

BUT ! If you are interested in doing that, . . . one of the things you can do if you want to get into that type of carving, . . . use a laser printer, . . . reverse the image, . . . print it on to waxed paper, . . . lay the waxed paper onto the leather, . . . use a squeege to transfer the ink onto the leather.

At least you won't then have to try to draw the image, . . .

May God bless,

Dwight
