phamcaovien Report post Posted March 23, 2016 Hello all. Please help me. Goatskin is thin, edgs = 0.7 to 0.9 mm. I'm making a tote bag, how to finish up raw edges of Goatskin leather ? using Gum or keep it raw ? Thanks you very much for all your support. Best regards. grmnsplx Report post Posted March 23, 2016 Is it veg or chrome?Either way, one option if to turn the edge.
Thor Report post Posted March 23, 2016 Haven't had any good and remaining results burnishing goat skin. I ended up using a soldering iron and if that's not an option I'm folding it inwards.
grmnsplx Report post Posted March 23, 2016 I have had good results burnishing goat skin. It depends on the tannage. The image attached is of a goatskin wallet. That top piece - a cash strap - has been dyes and burnished. I think it's a decent burnish.
