What Tools does Robert Beard Sell

Recommended Posts

I see so many great comments on Mr. Beards tools.

I have  Ordered two of his Swivel Knives, one year wait.

I have no idea what it will look like.

Can someone post pics of his swivel knife.

What other tools does he make?

Looks like his website is not being updated, would love to see a catalog.

All of his tools are polished black (blued).  That is where the name "black crack" comes from, you will be addicted.  He has no catalog and the website was set up by someone else and is not maintained.   Tooling tools, especially figure carving, are his specialty.

Bob makes anything he and you want (He wants to make and you want to pay for).

He makes edgers and Skiving knives (the best I've had).

Of course, he makes stamping tools and swivel knives and swivel knife blades.

About 10 BK tools in there, the rest are BB.

Not always a years wait.

Go to a show that Bob is attending or go to one of his classes, or if you know what you want, just phone him.  At a show like Rocky Mountain Leather Trade Show in Sheridan Wyoming, IFoLG in Columbus Ohio 2016, Southwest Leather show in Prescott Arizona in 2017, The Boot and Saddlemakers Roundup in Wichita Falls Texas, The TCAA or The CSMA shows maybe, Again Maybe the Pendleton Leather Show.  Bob makes other venues too, check with him.  Bob usually has common product at the shows for sale, and any class he teaches he will have tools for sale necessary for the class.  Bob is dynamite good people, and a better friend you couldn't want.

Does anyone know how to contact Bob?  I met him at the Prescott show, and I lost his number.  Thanks :)

His number is 505-632-7039. He usually advises to contact him via phone and it doesn't necessarily mean that you might have to wait. Sure wish my wife would give me the thumbs up so that I can contact him and send him money!

Thank you all. I did phone Bob, I have a stamp on order. The wait is a year. I must say, that the phone conversation is one that I will never forget. He is a very nice gentleman. He gave me the whole rundown of what he was going to make for me. He is doing a design that I described to him over the phone. I have no idea what it will look like LOL. I loved talking to that man, he is a character I will not likley forget soon. If I lived in the area where he has shows ,I would go.

Art,

I just called and ordered a skiving knife from Bob. They said it would be about 2 months wait. I didn't ask how much they were because I didn't want to tell my wife yet. Do you remember off hand what you paid for yours?

Thanks.

No, I do not. Bob has never been unfair with pricing. You get what you pay for.
