Great work...but if I'm not mistaken...this cover is on a shotgun or at least your one photo shows four 12 gauge slugs in your ammo holder. :)

You do great work...if not for the ammo no one would know the difference...if you did not include the ammo loops, I'm sure it would be interchangeable with both rifles and shotguns.

Those look like .410 shells.  

What's the best way to measure and lay out that single piece that wraps around the buttstock?  I would be interested to try this as a next step to moving away from the canned kits (I'm new to this).  What size holes and grommets are those in the lower stitching?

Too fat for 410's, look like 20G slugs to me.

Yeah you might be right, Martyn...they might be 20 ga.

Take it from me they're 20 gauge and even look to be slugs.  Not birdshot for sure. I own every normal bore of shotgun and several in 20gauge. Still nice job on the cover . I'd be afraid of messing it up by using it. I always set the butt on the ground and lean it against a tree or post.
