Mare's Leg rig

This was fun since I didn't have a weapon to work with I modified by kids broken Red Ryder to the profile of a Henry Mare's Leg in 22lr and this is what happened.

No doubt. Unless I called a timeout while undoing the snaps!! I asked my customer if this was for action/speed shooting or just safe carriage at the range and he opted for the second hence the snap retention. the lower strap is of course the thigh strap.

I would love to see your fast draw version if you don't mind.

I'm not too sure how fast it might be or might have been, . . . but I did this one some time back.

I'd much druther carry my 1911.............

Nice job.  They are fun to do no matter how impractical the gun is.  This one has an open front down to just below the rear sight and attachments so he can wear it on his belt or attach it to his four wheeler. The double snaps keep it in the holster but can be undone so he can roll it out of the holster with minimal lift.

Now that I've got into making holsters I wish I still had my ranch hand.

Your version of the holster is not much different than the original . Steve McQueen s had a hook at the top and spring steel wrapped in leather down where the barrel and ammo tube pass the forearm. When drawn the barrel came up forward to make speed  Very quick.
