let me know what you guys think, I make up all my patterns myself so I know I need improvement on that and Sewing! Everything else too. it's only letting me put one pic in!

Nice Design, but I would be weary about the edges of the grommets wearing into the stitching. Especially since this is machine stitched. I would recommend putting a small 'washer' of leather between the grommet and the belt to space the grommet away from the stitching. The straps appear to be a single layer or leather, What is the point of the stitching on the straps? Purely decorative? Keep up the good work.

stitching on the straps were just for looks. I wish I could find some smaller o.d. grommets for the belt but that's all I had. the smaller belt is also only a single layer so if the stitches wear into there won't be any issues with the belt separating.

Sorry, I have to ask, but what is the purpose of this belt? Will it be the base for additional things, like pouches, tools?

Personally I never liked bulge or bulky things in my back, and especially not on vertebrae/spine. One may not feel it right away, but it does cause irritation, which is one of the reasons manufacturers have gone to a more padded support system or harness.

This would be a simple solution to this:

I agree that the grommets are too big and on the other hand they aren't needed for this application. Unless one uses it to reduce his belly size, the stress on this belt will go downwards and not along the length of the belt. Almost the same effect will be achieved by adding webbing to the back and using oval holes instead of round ones. Now, if I'm guessing right, it's a suspender type belt and the main idea of those is to distribute the weight load more onto the shoulders and away from the waist. 

Stitching along a single layered strap is believed to reduce stretching of the straps. Whether this is correct or not, I don't know.

Feathering the fold for the buckle would reduce the bulge in front and give it a more professional appearance.

it will have bolt bags for structural steel worker when loaded with tools and bolts it will weigh approximately 80-100 lbs. it has a suspender system though I'm not sure if I included it in the picture or not. I put the grommets in the belt per customer request and that a the smallest outside diameter grommet with a 3/8 hole I could find at the time . I appreciate the feedback
