This is the first time for me to post on here.  I have played around with different Bible/Book covers over the past couple of months and I done this one for a customer.  Just wanted some feedback on anything that there is wrong with it that I am not seeing.  I done this cover out of 11oz Hermann Oaks leather, stamped the name on the binding, and put the drawings on the front of it.  After I was done with the drawings and the stampings, I used a wood burning tool to trace everything out then used black dye to fill it in.

Looks good and while I wouldn't say it was anything wrong, 11oz for a bible cover seems a little heavy to me. I usually go with a 6-7oz for bible covers. The stitching looks nice and even and your dye job looks great. What did you use to finish it?

Every day you learn something is a good day. If you don't learn something every day, was it worth waking up for?

I used 2 coats of Resolene for a finish.

Customer wanted a heavy leather. I usually use a lighter weight leather. Although it was cut out of my husbands good holster/belt leather :rolleyes2:

I can understand that, I've made 2 phone cases in the last 3 weeks for customers that wanted cases that would stop a shell fired from a tank lol 9oz wet molded and backed with kydex, I think they'll be happy lol

I would say they would be happy!  That should be tougher than a otterbox!

Armor plated bible looks great.

I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with.

Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day.

From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.

I told them if he breaks another one while in the case, I'll buy the replacement phone so I'm hoping it holds up lol

and long as the customer is happy, that's what is important
