My friend father's name is "TIKA" the T1 is hidden in his name (transporter T1...). Any critique? Hope you like it! The tiger also need critique... have somebody use the Tandy's hair blade tool? I'm thinking to buy one. I think my "hairs" on this poor tiger doesn't look very good. What you prefer? One more question. Has anybody used "waterbrush" for painting leather (a pen that u can fill up with dye). Quote

I especially love the way the lion blends in with the background of the wallet. If there were any thing with my limited experience I would critique it would be that the hairs on the lion should be more flowing and natural looking. They seem to look a little too straight. They are really beautiful pieces though. Quote

And tap that stitching down after you sew. It will look twice as good immediately. Great job. I really really like the whole lion piece. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! Northmount Posted October 18, 2016 Report Posted October 18, 2016 The lion hair looks good. The Tandy hair tool works okay. I think you would like using it. You can make your own hair blade by stacking and taping a few exacto blades together. There are some posts about making one here, try a search. Tom Quote

Biker, the smaller thread is a good ideal. in my first projekts(i haven't got too much...) i love this thread but its to big for these "nice" wallets... The tooling is pretty good, and the dye job is superb-- I'm not sure what you call it, or how you did it, but the light fading around the vehicle really helps it pop out. Any critiques? I can only spot a couple things to keep working on: Keep practicing straight and curved cuts with the knife to get the feel for smoother lines, and the proportion on the tiger face is a bit off -- it seems too wide between the eyes. The VW wallet with cards and coins etc is about 3 cm ( 1,2 inch I think), when it is empty its about an inch thick. Djole: I applied the antique dye with a sponge, when i get near to the carving i used a piece of cloth with antique (i rub the 80% antique from the cloth) and then i carefully "shading" the light with the dark brown together.
