bikermutt07 Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 Our saga continues....... After playing some dye and scraps the other day I came up with this little piece. I started out with British tan. The next day I took a dry sponge and some dark brown and just squiglled a few lines across it. I really liked how it turned out, so I added it to my bracelet stockpile. The backs of the two bracelets were pretty fuzzy. I tried sanding them, slicker, then finally gum trag and the motor burnisher. They finally got slick, but man were they ugly. So, rather than scrapping them I took them to the splitter. I now have a one off Herman oak double flesh bracelet in the 4 ounce variety. And Valentine's day is right around the corner, and I built her tote in British tan. Now until today I haven't played with rivets or jewels and what not. But my wife the art teacher prefers her jewelry a little on the gawdy side. Tandy has been clearing out these jeweled rivets in varying sizes and I bought a lot of them over the last few days. 100 packs were retailing at 50 and 60 dollars. I got them for like 8 bucks a pack. Back to the bracelet. I have spent less time pulling and replacing a transmission than I have in the edges of this single little bracelet. I loved on it, cussed it, sanded it, begged it, burnished it, dyed it, waxed it, hummed to it, burnished it over and over again, every little bit I could give to this edge I gave. I now have an edge I'm proud of. Up until now I haven't made my wife a bracelet. Because I told her, I haven't made one good enough for you, yet. You be the judge.
