As there are a lot of pics once again I have chosen to use imgur so here is the link. Stole..er umm improved this idea off an idea that my wife had lol. Orginally she wanted a box style purse and I thought hmm that might make an interesting storage box for trading cards such as magic the gathering or any cards really.  So figured I would give it a go to build one with an old design, modify it and go from there. This box I had in mind to go along with the smaller deck holders that I have started to make. The great thing is this design is simple enough that I can easily modify it for almost any size!

Oh wow, you went a few steps further than I did!  I just took an existing cardboard MTG storage box and covered/stitched leather onto it.  Worked out pretty nice since I didn't have to do any real measuring. ;)

That is a pretty smart idea, at least you know how many cards it will hold lol!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking about MTG boxes! I took one of the cardboard boxes and used it as a pattern for making them. I also have a pattern in the works for making a beveled corner box and also one of the boxes that you get at pre-release. I'll have to load a pic of my first box. It'll easily hold 3 sleeved up decks, I sew dividers in which is the toughest part.

How the hell do you do the dividers? I was thinking of doing a box with a "false" bottom as well just have to figure out how to go about doing that so that it fits nice and looks like an actual bottom not just a piece of leather tossed over top of something lol. Ah the ideas in my head lol. I may even have to start getting back into MTG again though don't have anyone to play around here that I am aware of lol

Also selling the big box for 95 bucks, thinking of selling the big box and 6 of the smaller deck cards for around 245 which is a 60 dollar savings if you were to buy 6 of the smaller packers (with buckle and strap which I have set for 35 bucks a pop) and the bigger box your looking at 305 plus shipping, might jump it to 250 for the full set but throw in shipping world wide (normal with tracking) for free...still playing with that idea.

I have no experience with dividers but I love the way these were done http://andersenleather.blogspot.com/2015/10/sewing-partition-board-to-gusset.html

Now that is a pretty damn smart idea for using the wax paper would never have thought about that. I have made bags with a middle divider and gluing one side then the next was always a pain, may have to try that next time!!!

I found this site for making PDF templates, just plug in your dimensions and if does it up for you

https://www.cpforbes.net/tuckbox/tuckbox.cgi

I have used something similar mind you I had to do a little modifying of the internal flaps as the leather was a little too thick to allow for a proper sealing of the box.

I keep getting an error when I try to post pics. I'll try and get them up when I get it figured out.
