Finished this order up a few days ago. The 229 holster has a Legion grip medallion inserted and the 226 has a hand carved Legion symbol.

Looks great! I just made my first holster and knowing the challenge I had makes me appreciate some clean work even more.

Your dowel is showing.  Otherwise, looks good as usual ;)

Most of them are super glued on. Just wouldn't stick to the orange one.

I hate when my dowel is showing and I don't realise it....

Very nice work otherwise for sure. Are these flat backed? Do you use a single slot punch or punch the ends and cut out? they are very clean.

Friend,

Color me ignorant—But which Legion do you refer?

The French or Spanish Foreign Legions are the only ones that come to my mind.

I believe it is a reference to the Roman Legion (Lambda symbol).  It is marketing brought by Sig Sauer pistols that marked on their special pistols.  Pistols that have custom features but are made on a production line. hope that explains it :)

I just transferred one of those to a client yesterday. There is an insert in the grip of the Legion. It looks exactly like that. I can't imagine someone would take it off the grip to put it on the holster, though.

Now, off topic... Great gun, feels great in the hand, night sights, excellent trigger, with an almost imperceptible reset. Too imperceptible, like my Walther PPQ's. Unintentional double taps, with the very light trigger and extremely short reset. All metal (but not aluminum) frame, so heavy compared to the polymer wonders these days.
