How to replicate this effect?

Recommended Posts

I am sure its very simple once you know how but what is the technique to achieve this weathered/used look?

Thanks

You could achieve that look with a touch of practice with an airbrush. Try going with at least three shades of the dye you will be using and then a light coat of oil.

Try this. It works for me.

Lightly oil with neatsfoot using a piece of sheep skin.

Right away apply spirit or oil dye with the piece of oiled sheep skin. You may need to replenish the oil.

Leave for a day or two to let the oil and dye completely soak in and disperse. Then buff the crap out of it.
