My very first Leatherwork - Part 2

Recommended Posts

I like it. Better than my first attempt a month ago. I'm still learning daily and

The main lesson I've learned is you can't get better unless you keep at it. Practice, practice, practice. That's why I'm working on my 10th knife sheath today, lol.  Hope to see more of your work.

Very cool.

Looks like veg tan, it can crack after you dye it with alcohol based dyes and then try to bend it.  You can help prevent that by applying neatsfoot oil, and also by wet molding the leather to relieve the internal stresses and create some flexibility.  Keep up the nice work!

Oh, thx!! Yep it was an alc based dye. I did wetten it (After dying), but somehow the wack with a hammer was too much for the "flap" for the front :-))))

I like the way the dye came  out. Gives it a nice look.  Beautiful.

Nice sheath design. I agree with Vaelloc about the dye work...it has depth to it.  Beautify craftsmanship for a great looking blade...
