Gluing wallet before double loop stitch

Recommended Posts

I don't think I have read this anywhere.

Is it necessary to use a strong adhesive like weldwood or barge before double loop braid stitching a wallet or anything with a front/back pieces?

I have 1/4" double sided sticky tape.

My fu is glue stitching  when you need to.  If YOU dont need to glue it, then dont. I also hate those tapes...

Tom- I don't like the glue tape either but if it holds everything together especially on a large piece like a bag it might be worthwhile.

Thanks for the reply.

my son has been making a lot of minimal wallets for his buddies on the sheriffs department and they are all glued before, and I have done the same as I do with everything else we make.  Of course it is much harder to do afterwards.:huh:

I know this is an old post, but I use Elmers rubber cement from local store usually grocery or hardware carries it cheaply.
