rmr Report post Posted March 22, 2018 I have a range bag I will be sewing around a curved end. The curvature will not allow me to use my cobra cylinder bed to sew very well- I was contemplating using either the holster or stirrup plate . I have never used them- but I remember somewhere someone saying that you need to reduce the tension on the needle thread and will probably need to re-adjust the stitch length. Mark842 Report post Posted March 22, 2018 I never change my tension when using the holster plate. I do highly recommend you practice quite a bit before sewing your finished product. It takes a while to perfect because you are sewing without bottom feed and just using the walking foot to feed. You must learn to keep your work level and feed neutral. Joon1911 Report post Posted March 23, 2018 Like Mark, I don’t find I need to adjust top tension but I do need to lengthen the stitch adjuster to get an equivalent SPI.
