What is the proper name of these?

Recommended Posts

Those are/were locks that were found on leather gladstone bags....   They were usually brass. They hook into a loop on the opposite side of the bag. Have made lots of cases that used those in te past...

Hi Leathersmyth,

Do you have a source for them?   I am redoing a Gladstone bag, but may need to do more.   Bag was going to be for me, rare occurrence I make something for me, but jealous eyes are watching progress.  Thinking I could make several if I had a source for similar hardware.

Thanks,

Hi Wolfeyes,

Have you looked at McMaster-Carr.  They have tons of hardware, including latches.  While their hardware is more for industrial uses, you might find something there that will suit your needs.  This link for a window latch that, sort of, looks like what you want. https://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-window-latches/=1d61rq4. Good luck,

Rob

If OTB does not have them, they are likely made of Unobtainium.
