Die clicker alternative: unplugged/defective t-shirt heat press?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone used an unplugged hydraulic t-shirt heat press as an alternative to steel rule die clickers?

Mt heat press is manual 16 x 20

I wouldn't do it to mine. Just not made for that kind of use. I am sure it would work for awhile anyway. Lol

The problem with a T-shirt press is that the plates are not parallel and I am sure the press is not designed for the stresses that would be imposed.

One thing you can do with that press is get hold of some heat and bond

Set your press for 250F and use it for laminating lining. use the press for 3 or 4 seconds to tack the HnB to the lining (suede, thin veg tan or fabric) then peel the release paper, place on the base leather and press for 30 seconds. Been using this for 2 years and zero failures.

Best affordable clicker would be a 12 ton (or even 6 ton) arbor press.
