I would like some info on starting a leather guild here in Wisconsin.  We own our own alterations and leather business and I would like to start a guild to further the interest in leather work.  Does anyone have any info on what should be done in preparation of starting one?

Thank you for any info.

Running a guild is a LOT of work.  It requires paperwork, a board, Robert's rules and the like.  Contact the IFOLG for information on how to get started.  They will send you a packet that needs to be filled out and point you in the right direction.  Good luck!

If you do get one started, I know a lot of people in your area who might be interested.

Thanks immiketoo, I am not a total stranger to boards and meetings, rules, just want to do it correctly the first time.  Thanks again for your info.  I will see how things go and let you know.

Cool  Then you know what you're getting yourself into.  I looked at starting a recognized internet guild with my FB page a while back, but I chose not to for a variety of reasons, some of what I listed above.  A physical guild will be easier to manage all the way around.
