Nice looking bag and carving!  What type leather did you use?

My hound went crazy when she saw the squirrel! Must be a good likeness, very realistic.

This is going to sound completely wrong, but I love your wood. The bark is colored and textured really nicely and the squirrel is well done too.

I like the different textures above and below the tree branch.

Just a couple questions ... what is the weight of 75+ 12G shotgun shells? How will this case stand up to carrying that sort of weight, or does the case become a storage box (not a carry-case) when it's full?

Very beautiful work you have done, that carving and coloring are just gorgeous. Which thickness of the leather have you used for this project?

Brian, I shoot sporting clays, skeet and trap and I use a small shell box holder for one box of loaded shells and just use the larger pouch like this for empties.   I wouldn’t want to carry 75 loaded shells in the pouch - it would tilt me over to one side! LOL!

Normally each cartridge holds a 28 gram of lead (1 once)

Thanks everyone for the compliments. The leather is approximately 7-8 oz. He probably won’t carry 75 all at once, more like 50. Just put 75 as an estimate of size. 3 rivets on each belt loop, but I may need to beef it up. Will see after he uses it.

That's a nice looking squirrel and branch. Good modeling and excellent coloring! The texturing on the backgrounds is a nice touch, too.
And I suppose it even works for its intended purpose, so it's all a win!

Just like others have mentioned the textures you have created are superb. Great job and I am sure your son will enjoy it.
