Question about rivet setter

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm brand new to leather working, being primarily a woodworker.  I'm making some British campaign furniture and leather is used for the seats.  I plan on using some copper rivets during the project either #9 or #12.

I frequently buy and restore old woodworking tools and some years ago I bought a random lot.  Included was a tool I didn't recognize.  I later learned it was a rivet setter.

Here it is:

It has a number 2 marked on it.  My guess is that is it's size.

I"m guessing that I know the answer, but would I need a specific sized rivet setter for use with #9 or #12 copper rivet?

I'm not sure that this one would work as it does seem rather large.
