how to identify old singers

Say im looking for a Singer 45k or something? how do i identify it? all i typically see are serial numbers. and the machines all look pretty much the same to me.

Sometimes you can lookup a Singer serial number and it will tell you the model number and how many were built on a particular date.

I thought you heard an old song and were trying to figure out if it was Dean Martin, or Perry  Como.

LOL - I had to restrain myself from posting something similar! Oh, what the heck we all need a laugh!

Maybe by the way their voices crack on the high notes? :P
