MacRae Report post Posted May 23, 2019 Hey all, new to all this. An army bud of mine who was a MAT-TECH has this machine and gave it to me so I can start fixing military trucks seats, tents, rubber canvas, and I want to get into leather crafting knife scabbards etc. He gave me the run-down on running thread and basic Op but that’s it, unfortunately there’s no manual with it. Does anyone have a manual, or know of x-ref machines so I can learn it’s capabilities and order parts if required? Located in YWG CDN
Gregg From Keystone Sewing Report post Posted May 23, 2019 (edited) Consew 226R is same as Seiko STW-8B. These have reverse. STW-8 is same as Consew 225. These are direct copies of the Singer 111W155, part for part, screw for screw. No reverse. Consew Owners Book, 224R, 225R, 226R.pdf Here's another one, very good information. USNavySinger111WConsew225REPAIR.pdf Much appreciated Gregg! Just to clarify mine is a Consew badged STW 8M. I keep getting directed to Seiko searching that part number or finding 22X numbered consews. Is this not a common machine? It definitely looks similar to the 225 in that manual you posted but badged a STW 8M. I’m a little bummed about the no reverse but I’ll make it work for now - maybe something to upgrade down the road Edited July 16, 2019 by MacRae
