We watched my nephew’s two children over the weekend and the 10 year old wanted to make something out of leather.  So we made a belt out of two layers of 5 oz Russet W&C, with some black pebble grain upholstery leather for accents.  I cut the strips and let him do most of the other work under my supervision (I also sewed it since we had limited time).  I think it turned out pretty well and he was so proud of it!

Awesome way to pass the craft on to the next generation. I have done a few projects with my grandkids and it's super rewarding for me and fun for them.

He looks very happy.  It's wonderful to watch children and adults discover the joy in being creative making themselves leather belts.

I like this a lot. Great way to pass on the craft. My grandfather was a maintenance mechanic for all of my life and most of his. He was the first one to show me how to use a Speedy Stitcher to repair the bib pocket on one of his work aprons.  The grandson will not forget this.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.  I had fun working with him and it is so nice that a youngster is interested in more than tv or video games.  He is moving to Florida soon, so I gues I won’t be doing too many more projects with him.  Will have to figure out where I can find more youngsters to help.
