Members MarkCdub Posted July 28, 2019 Members Report Posted July 28, 2019 Im working on a bifold wallet and Im trying to figure out how wide to make the back so it is wide enough to fold. Its a verticle bifold with 2 card pockets (3 layers on each not including the back). The gap where the pencil is pointed, I currently have it drawn at 1 inch but I think that is too wide. Quote
RockyAussie Posted July 28, 2019 Report Posted July 28, 2019 The most common one I make is 1" where you show but that is partly because I like to stitch right across at the bottom. Others that stop and start either side will generally be 3/4" and sometimes a bit less. If they are going to be a bit thick then 1" will be better for sure. Members MarkCdub Posted July 28, 2019 Author Members Report Posted July 28, 2019 (edited) In the drawing its 1". I took my front pocket card holder (same thickness as bifold will be) and wrapped a strip of the leather around to get an idea of how thick it needs to be and it looks like 3/4-1" is about right. I'm gonna leave it at 1" and see how it turns out. Thanks RockyAussie. Edited July 28, 2019 by MarkCdub Quote
