Clicker from a Manual Turret Punch?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever modified a manual turret punch to be used as a clicker for leather, rather than punching holes in steel? I can get a working turret punch cheap locally and was just wondering if anyone’s done this before? Pic attached

Interesting concept.  Keep us posted if you follow through with it. Only issue I see is there enough clearance in the throat.

I’m thinking that all or most of the black round steel would need to be removed and replaced with two pieces of flat steel of desired bed size. Handle pulled would bring two pieces of flat steel together to “click” items. Others thoughts?

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. It's the same principle, one works with steel penetration and the other is leather penetration (or cutting).
